Virgin Kazanska FW

Also known as "Theotokos of Kazan" or "The Black Virgin of Kazan", it occupies a prominent position in the Russian Orthodox Church. Tradition states that the icon was a gift from the Patriarch of Constantinople Germanus II to the inhabitants of the city of Kazan in the 13th century. in order to have the consolation of Theomitoros, from the frequent raids of the other sexes and those of other religions. However, the icon was stolen in 1904 and a little later it was known that it was destroyed. The Russian Church interpreted the destruction of the icon as a bad sign and a source of suffering for Russia.
