Saint Constantinos and Helen in Sunken Wood
Saint Constantine, also known as Constantine the Grea, was a Roman Emperor who ruled from 306 to 337. He was the first Roman emperor to turn to Christianity and marked with his empire a special era in the history of the Roman Empire as he created a new imperial residence in Byzantium and renamed the ancient colony Byzantium to "Constantinoplel" where the capital was transferred. In addition, he signed the Decree of the Mediolans and convened the 1st Ecumenical Session of Nice. Saint Helena was empress of the Roman Empire and mother of the Great Constantine. She dedicated her life to charity and the dissemination of Christian teaching. It is attributed to the finding of the Holy Cross. It is almost always depicted with the son of Agios Konstantinos, with the Holy Cross among them. They are celebrated on May 21st.
