Virgin Vladimirka RW
This icon is also known as Our Lady of Vladimir. A medieval Byzantine icon of the Virgin Mary who is considered the patron saint of Russia. According to the testimonies, it is painted by the Evangelist Luke, which describes the feelings of a mother's love and her concern for her child. It dates to the 12th century and was originally in Jerusalem until 450 AD. , then it was transferred to Constantinople for three centuries and from 1480 it is permanently located in Moscow.
