Saint Athanasios
Saint Athanasios was born in Alexandria to Greek Christian parents and from an early age had religious stimuli and a remarkable Greek education. Athanasios had a great love for Christ and followed a virtuous life and constantly evolved in terms of his knowledge to the point where in his childhood he performed baptisms at sea to children of pagans with reverence and with all the rules of the ceremony. Due to the exact and correct commission of the mystery, the baptisms were accepted by the patriarch of Alexandria and took Athanasios under his protection. During his life he was a fighter of Orthodoxy and hesitated in front of any opponent. Our church honors him as a Saint because of his faith and his faithful devotion to the work of Christ. It is celebrated on January 18th and May 2nd.
