Saint Marcella The Chiopolitida

Saint Marcella was born and lived in Chios. Her parents had different religions as her mother was a Christian and her father was a pagan. She was raised as a Christian by her mother, but after her death her father went after her in order to change her religious views and become a pagan. So as she tried to escape all this pursuit, she fell into the sea where her father wounded her with a bow and her blood painted the rocks. She prayed to Christ to escape, and then a rock opened where only her body could fit in its and her head was exposed. Her father found her and beheaded her. At this point of the rock gushes holy water. It is celebrated on July 22nd.
