Arsenie Boca

Arsenie Boca was a Romanian Orthodox monk, theologian, mystic and artist. He is regarded by some of his students as the greatest Romanian cleric of the 20th century. Born on September 29, 1910, he was ordained a uniform deacon on September 11, 1936 and died on November 28, 1989. He lived martyrdom years against his persecution by the communists and that is why by Decision of the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church he was canonized on 28 October 2019.
